Us by Jordan Peele I had watched before and had liked how he really was using sublayers to voice real world problems in our world. The shadow people are really just another version of ourselves if we were deprived of basic needs and just lived life without a soul. Red explains how they ate rabbits when they ate and also in the boardwalk scene you can see when people actually are on rides the shadow people just stand in rooms and shake. The visual image for that was weird to watch but it can see how it has a deeper social meaning because of the fact how we actually deprive people who technically are Lower than us just like the shadow people who lived in the tunnels underneath the ground. The shadow people are basically the reflection of ourselves just if we were without a soul but since they are bonded to us by that they are not really feeling all the same emotions that we can feel since they are not the ones able to experience the full thing . this also made me think about how we really aren’t that different from most people we are just separated by social classes and we all just want the same experiences in life with family and others around which is what it seemed like Red was longing for.
